Cape May Distillery

Cape May’s 1st Distillery – At Cape May Distillery we craft products based on what people love to drink.

Our hands-on process uses locally grown raw ingredients sourced in the state of New Jersey.

We currently offer both Barrel and Beach Rums along with our unique Honey Liquer.

THE START
Cape May Distillery began as a labor of love in early 2013.  The founders, Nathan Dolezel and Lee Phillips became friends after meeting in Albany, NY in the late 2000’s.  Like most students in their twenties they found a commonality in their love for alcohol and agreed in the use of spirits as a way to bring people together in joy and celebration. Lee Phillips began his affair with distilling spirits and all the processes involved in his mid- twenties and is proud of the fact that distilling is not just a hobby but a family traditions that he is proud to carry on.

Making a Distillery
Starting in 2012 Nathan moved to the suburbs of Philadelphia where he and Lee found time to fish during the days and enjoy the night life in Wildwood and Cape May City during the beautiful summer nights on the Jersey coast.  It was during one of these weekends that the idea of starting a distillery began to take some shape and the prospect of starting a business became not just an idea but a possibility to take the labor of love they had and turn it into a profitable business. What’s to come
The growth of this business and the expansion that has occurred since is a result of the efforts of many and the granting of the license to finally make alcohol, legally, the way they wanted to: their way.
